News & Insights

News, tagged to the places it affects

Every item carries region, local authority and theme metadata, so an announcement about a coastal scheme surfaces on the region page, the authority page and in search.

How the news model works

  • One record, many surfaces. News is authored once and syndicated by tag to region, authority, theme and topic pages — no duplicate pages to maintain.
  • Retention and archiving. Items older than the agreed retention window move to a dated archive that stays indexed and addressable, rather than being deleted.
  • Subscriptions. Readers choose topics and regions; the same tags drive the update digest.
  • Bilingual. Irish and English versions are separate publishable states of one record, with a translation-delta warning when the source changes.

ProvenanceNo news articles are reproduced in this prototype. Live news, dates and authorship are migrated from caro.ie under the Stage 7 content freeze with 1:1 redirects.
